Question 46

Fossil fuels are used to generate electricity. Burning fossil fuels gives off carbon dioxide. Scientists have observed that carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are rising. This is causing temperatures in many parts of the world to increase. Melting ice, in glaciers and in the Antarctic, is causing sea levels to rise.

Most plants grow well at certain temperatures. Suggest a reason why rising temperatures can affect crop and vegetable farmers.
