Question 86

Lifting heavy weights is a dangerous activity. If it is not done properly, it can result in serious injuries and damage to the materials being lifted. Machines apply forces to make the task easier by reducing the effort needed. However, sometimes there are no machines available.
Your school has been asked to host a national science fair. The only space that can be used is a storage room that is full of boxes. The boxes are piled up and some of them are quite heavy.
Design a set of machines that will help to move the boxes so the storage room can be cleared to use for the science fair.

Show your prototype to the class.
Discuss how this machine could be used in real-life industrial settings.
