Work in small groups to model a solar and a lunar eclipse. Cut two circles from a piece of card. They should be about 15 cm and 10 cm in diameter. These represent the Earth and Moon respectively. Use a small torch to represent the Sun.

Position the Earth, Moon and Sun to model the eclipses. Use Figures 14.16 and 14.18 to help you.
