Wear safety glasses.

Testing for oxygen
1. Pour hydrogen peroxide into a test tube until it is about half full.
2. Add a spatula of manganese dioxide.
3. Place a glowing splint into the neck of the test tube.

Describe what happened to the glowing splint when you tested for oxygen.
