Cambridge Primary (1-6). Stage 2. Mathematics. Workbook - Unit 13: Measures (2)
Read or complete the three 0–90 gram scales. The apple is 40 g.

Halve the cookie recipe for 4 people to make it for 2 people.
Choose the sensible mass for each object.

Add the kilogram masses and mark the scales.

Order the masses from lightest to heaviest.
Choose the best mass estimate for each pictured object.

Estimate whether each object is less than, about or more than 1 kg.

Compare real objects by holding them. Decide whether bigger always means heavier, then give five objects between a spoon and plate in mass.
Use scales to find three pairs of objects with about the same mass.
Find the mass of each box on the four balances.

Use 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 g weights repeatedly to make each fruit mass in two ways.

Solve the fruit balance problems and write one of your own.

Compare each pair of water amounts: write more or less.

For each full container, choose more or less than 1 litre.

Choose the best capacity estimate for the cups, teapot and can.

Choose litres or millilitres for the bucket, drink bottle and fish tank.

Pour 5 litres into a 3-litre jar. How much is left?
Read the four measuring jugs.

Three half-litre bottles are filled from 2 1/2 litres. Is there enough and how much remains?
