Question 56
Measuring current in a parallel circuit. Investigate how current through a battery depends on the number of identical lamp branches. Use four or six identical lamps, a suitable low-voltage supply, switch, ammeter, leads and connectors. Set up the first circuit and measure current with one lamp. Add a second lamp in parallel and measure again. Continue adding lamps one at a time without moving the ammeter; record the current through the battery each time. Repeat each measurement two further times, decide whether more repeats are needed, and calculate the average for each set.
