Measuring voltage in a series circuit. Use a teacher-approved low-voltage supply, two or three lamps, another component such as a buzzer, switch, wires and a voltmeter. Set up a series circuit as shown. Connect the voltmeter across the battery; measure and record the voltage, using your measurement rather than the printed value. Connect the voltmeter separately across each component and record each voltage. Do not exceed component voltage ratings. Switch off before changing components; ask your teacher before connecting a new component.
